Google has lowered the eligibility threshold for its Search profiles to 10,000 followers on YouTube, Instagram, X, or TikTok, expanding access to more U.S. publishers and creators. The update, announced September 16, also introduces multi-account support for media organizations managing multiple brands.
Search profiles bring a publisher or creator’s articles, social content, website and other information together in a dedicated Google presence. Google has also refreshed the article display with longer headlines and optimized image thumbnails to make content easier to discover. Search profiles remain available only in the United States.
For home service businesses, the update highlights the growing importance of building a recognizable digital presence beyond traditional SEO. As Google brings websites, social content and brand information closer together, contractors with established content and social audiences may have more opportunities to strengthen brand visibility across Search and Discover. It also reinforces why consistent content, strong local visibility and an active digital presence should work together rather than operate as separate marketing channels.
